Amy Flowers Classes

This past spring I took four classes from Amy Flowers.  I took two in Santa Fe one weekend and the following weekend I took two in Albuquerque.  It was a busy couple of weeks.  I thoroughly enjoyed taking her classes.  She taught about doing collages, assemblage, framing art work, soldering with microscope slides and learning to use a Dremel tool.  I have several pictures showing some of the pieces I made during these classes.

Artchix "Bubbles" Swap

I received my Artchix "Bubbles" ATCs in the mail yesterday.  In the package was 4 collage sheets and button pins with various "Bubbles" ATCs from several of the artists who joined in this swap. When I get a chance I will take a picture of the ATCs I received.  They are just wonderful.   I also got lucky in that a portion of one of my ATCs was included in the collage.  It was great to see one of my own works on a sheet that many people will purchase and I am named on the Artchix website as one of the artists on the collage sheets.  Too cool!  I have included a picture of the six ATCs I did for the swap.  Hope you like them.

It's Time to Add More Pics

I finally decided to get back to this as it has been quite awhile since I wrote anything.  Here are some additional pictures of some of the latest swaps I have been involved in.

These are the Summer Inchies I did for the mmartfriends yahoo group.  I have included both the fronts and backs.

More Pictures!

This first picture is of a quilled farm scene I made for my friend, Sandy. It was a birthday gift earlier this year. I have also gotten into quilling after my friend, Joy's daughter got her a calendar that had quilling examples in it. From there I made this.

This next photo is sideways and I will have to somehow figure out how to turn it upright. It is a program for an event for my Dad. He received a photographic award last September. I utilized the program page and added some quilled elements that represented photography. It was fun to make and Dad really liked it. He plans to hang it up next to my sister-in-law's scrapbook she made for him for Father's Day.

The last two are of my paper mermaid I created for the Bella Enchanted Mermaid swap. I had a swap partner named Melissa and we exchanged mermaids. I need to take a picture of what she sent me and will post it later. The pictures are of both the front and back. I quilled the scales on the mermaid tail. I molded a polymyer clay face and added beaded wired hair. It was hard to part with but I will try to make another someday for myself.

Pictures

Yea!  I figured out how to post pictures.  The first one is my 4 x 4 "By The Sea" chunky book for Artchix.  This is the first swap I have ever tried.  I can't wait to see the full book as there were around 76 people who also participated.

This second set of pictures are of my House ATC I made for the Altered Start swap.  It represents the southwest in which I live.  I had to make 4 to trade for 4.  I also can't wait to see what I get back.  The pictures show the front, back and what it looks like when you open the house up. Pretty Cool!

Time

I am still so new to this blogging thing. I have several pictures of things I have made and received. I still need to figure out how to upload them to the blog. I will get to it hopefully sometime soon.

My First Post

I still can't believe that I actually have a blog. My coworker (Joy) and I have gotten ourselves involved in mixed media art swaps. We saw so many others from the yahoo groups we have joined that they have blogs so I decided to try this and see what happens. Woo hoo! I have done it. I hope to be able to upload some photos when I figure out how that works.
